Event Thursday Night, Network Michigan, IT in the D Live Tonight and Assorted Chaos

Busy week.

We’ve got another IT in the D live broadcast tonight, our casual networking event Thursday night, we’ve got our events booked out for the rest of the year, and our IT in the D shows are fully stocked with guests for the rest of the month.

Look at us…being all organized and stuff.

Crazy, isn’t it?

Well let’s start talking about some details…

photo 3We start with our next networking event.

It’s this Thursday, October 17th.

Royal Oak.

Blackfinn.

Back room.

5:01pm start time.

Some of the greatest folks in the metro Detroit information technology industry will be on-hand and in the room to hang out for a casual chat, help you find your next job, or point you in the right direction if you’re looking to hire.

Details on all of our events can always be found on our events page here on the site – http://www.ITinTheD.com/meet/ – on Meetup at http://meetup.ITinTheD.org, and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ITintheD

Based on everything we’ve seen from past trends and events, odds are good that this will be a slightly-larger-than-normal casual networking event. The month after one of our Pink Slip Party events just always seem to work out that way.

Our November and our December holiday-ish / “Support the Troops” events have been scheduled, and we’re also doing something of a one-off for you hardware / infrastructure / telecomm folks that always tell us that we need to do something specifically in your area of interest.

On Tuesday, November 5th, we’re partnering up with the good folks from the Great Lakes Technology Showcase who invited us to join one of their networking reception events.  There will be a whole host of companies who are looking to hire for those areas, and so if you’re one of those people who have been buzzing in our ear about this…no excuses, go read http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/great-lakes-tech-show/ and then plan on being at Old Shillelagh on Tuesday the 5th.

Many of you know that we’ve been asked to expand our events and reach over the years, and we think we’ve finally come up with a way that actually works.

Network Michigan” is that way.

We simply don’t have the time to dive into anything else, and so we’ve opened the doors to others who want to take our core principles to heart, are looking to run groups the way we run them, and do what they can to help out like we do with our own events.

We’ve got these events listed on our events page for now – http://www.ITinTheD.com/meet/ – but you can keep in more direct contact with these events and more through Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/NetworkingMichigan, on LinkedIn at http://www.linkedin.com/groups/NetworkMichiganorg-4264317, via the site at http://www.networkmichigan.org/ and on Twitter at https://twitter.com/networkmichigan

946399_308703015938878_1442786050_nWe’ll probably chat about that a bit during tonight’s IT in the D broadcast.

As already noted, we’ve got the whole month booked with some great guests.  Davina from iTalent along with Scott and Melinda from Project Leadership Associates will be in-studio tonight.  Long-time group member Derek Strate and Mark Larson from Falling Down Beer Company will be joining us next week on the 21st.  Erika and Michelle from Girl Develop It – Detroit will be rejoining us for updates on everything they’ve got going on along with Billy Strawter with his usual great insights on the 28th.

Details on all of our upcoming shows can always be found on our events page out at http://www.ITinTheD.com/meet/ as well, but we’d really appreciate it if you’d go give our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ITinTheD a like, too.  The twitter “voice” for the show is at https://twitter.com/ITinTheD, and we take your calls during our live broadcasts from 9pm to 11pm as well at 313.462.0107.

You can learn everything you need to know about our show, including catch up on past episodes, on our Listen Live page here: http://www.ITinTheD.com/listen/

That’s about all for now.  See you Thursday night, and hope you can join us by listening live tonight!

Regards,

Bob, Dave and Jeff
