There’s a lot to get to, so let’s just get to it…

I'm not saying we save lives. I'm just sayin' never know...

If you’re in or around the Information Technology industry here in metro Detroit, and you’re not there tonight…you’re insane.  A ton of recruiters from nearly any company in the area that you’d ever want to even think about working for, a few hundred of your peers…what’s not to like?

Thank you to those of you who took a moment to RSVP for tonight’s event.  Not only did you help me get rid of that annoying eye twitch, but you also helped yourselves along the way.

After all…we know how great these events are and how many people show up, but to the casual observer from the outside…well, it helped answer a lot of questions.  So thank you.

In fact, we haven’t had this many RSVP’s ahead of time since our second Pink Slip Party back in the day at Commune…and those of you who have been around the group since 2009 know exactly how packed that event was.

Needless to say…we’re looking forward to an awesome event tonight.  70 recruiters have dropped us an email letting us know that they’re coming, and will have badges waiting for them when they get there.  All of them have multiple (in many cases “dozens”) of jobs that they’re looking to fill…and fill now.

We had a few quick updates the other day with some tips and tricks for tonight’s event, and I strongly encourage you to read that over here:

If you haven’t already done so, take a moment and read the Frequently Asked Questions:

And then, well, just plan on showing up and having a great time tonight.  Relax.  Take a cruise through the 10 Commandments of Networking over at and make sure you’re prepped and solid for the evening’s activities.

But most of all…relax.

While you’re waiting, we’ve got some conversations going on in our LinkedIn group as well as jobs being posted by recruiters planning on being there tonight.

We thought it would be a good idea to remind everyone of the group rules (, some common mistakes that people make during interviews (, a shining example of why newbie recruiters might want to spend more time networking and less time keyword searching (, the mental toll faced by the unemployed and how to keep yourself sane (, why under-qualified candidates might just be the best candidates sometimes (…and quite a few more.

There are a few pages of jobs sitting in the group right now…and for the sake of brevity (I know, very unlike me…shut up) I’m just going to remind you that they’re all live here:  If you’re interested, go look.

It’s going to be a blast tonight folks.  See you in a matter of hours…
