The Almost Christmas Update for 12/21/2011

Got your shopping done?

No?

Good luck with that.

We’re wrapping up (pardon the pun) the year, and getting things ready for 2012.  Yes, even though the Mayan calendar conspiracy wonks believe the world will end exactly one year from today, we still think you should plan on spending some time with us in 2012.

So let’s just keep things simple and get rolling with this week’s updates…

There’s a recap of last Thursday’s event at Dragonmead out at http://www.ITinTheD.com/2850/recap-dragonmead-december15/

Yes, you can still make a donation if you’d like to do so.  We’ll be getting everything finalized and packaged up in the coming days, so you need to let us know quickly if you’re interested: http://www.ITinTheD.com/contact/

If you’re interested, there are also some photos posted out at http://www.ITinTheD.com/2864/a-few-photos-from-thursday-night/

Also of note from last Thursday night, do you know what to do with your old computers or know anyone with disabilities looking for a gig in IT?  You might want to give http://www.ITinTheD.com/2874/a-couple-cool-things-from-thursday-night/ a read.

And then as you’re looking ahead as well, we’re starting to get our events planned for next year.  So far, we’ve got scheduled:

January 19th at BlackFinn: http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/january-casual-networking-social/

February 16th at Rochester Mills Brewery: http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/february-casual-networking-social/

March 22nd at BlackFinn: http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/march-casual-networking-social/

…and a few more.  We’re trying to solidify things up as much as possible to lock in the whole year’s calendar as far in advance as we can.

You can always keep up to date on all of our events with our Events page out at http://www.ITinTheD.com/meet/

As always, you can hit the LinkedIn group out at http://www.linkedin.com/groups/ITintheDorg-Detroit-Networking-Events-IT-91763 to hop into discussions and check out jobs, if you’re so inclined.  As far as those jobs go, right now you can check out…

Odds are good we won’t do one of these next week…so, have an awesome Christmas, Hannukah, or whatever it is that you have going on at this time of year (we’re not here to judge…go sacrifice a chicken under the moonlight if that’s your thing) and stay safe on the craziest amateur night of all, New Year’s Eve.  It’s been a phenomenal 2011, people.  Seriously.  Thank you for everything that’s gone on this year.  The friendships, the people that have found new jobs, the help and support given to each other…just…well, pretty damned cool.

Looking forward to seeing you in 2012 at one (or more…go with “or more”) of our events http://www.ITinTheD.com/meet/

Regards,

Bob, Dave and Jeff
