Steampunk, Pat Muldoon, “Why I Hate Detroit” Tonight In-Studio, Podcast Anniversary Party Friday, Event Updates and More For 5/30/2016

First and foremost, and with all due seriousness, thank you to all who have given their lives over the years in defense of our country and its principles in order to allow us the opportunity to sit around and be sarcastic wise asses.  Without them and their sacrifice, this country simply couldn’t be what it is today.

That being said, it’s still another Monday, and that means it’s show day.  Tonight we’re being joined by long-time group member Pat Muldoon, the organizers of a Steampunk convention taking place in July, and the author of the “Why I Hate Detroit” piece that’s been raising eyebrows around the area recently.  Plus we’ve got blog entries, the party for the 3rd anniversary of our podcast coming up and more…

10154888_642040519271791_1530627738118442726_nOur next casual networking event will take place on Thursday, June 16 at Hamlin Corner in Royal Oak.

No agendas, no sales pitches, no cover charges to get in.  We just bring together some of the best and brightest folks in and around the metro Detroit information technology community for the purpose of networking and improving your professional connections around the area.

maxresdefault (10)We’ve also got something of a one-off event happening this Friday, June 3rd, over at Stray Cat Lounge.  It’s the 3rd anniversary of us starting our podcast, and so we’re dragging out the remote gear, setting up shop, lighting up a cigar or two, throwing back a decent scotch or five, and babbling for a few hours.  We’d love it if you’d come out and join us for a drink and hop on a mic as we reminisce and wax poetic (okay, probably “not so poetic”…more “crude and innuendo laden”) about where the last three years have taken us, our new Podcast Detroit building and studios and more.

Details for both of those events…and all of the others we do…can be found here on the site –, on our Facebook page –, or in our Meetup group –

ITintheDnewspaper05302016bOf course we’ll be talking about those events tonight during episode 146 of our weekly live podcast broadcast coming to you from our brand freaking new Podcast Detroit building.  We’ll also recap the week’s news, events and items that have caught our eye, and then diving in with our guests.

Tonight we’re joined by long-time group member Pat Muldoon, who’s been around with us for years to chat about what he’s got going on, we’ll probably pick his brain about the evolution of our group and more.  We’re also being joined by the organizers of a Steampunk convention happening in July, and we’ve also got the writer of the eyebrow-raising “Why I Hate Detroit” piece that’s been getting quite a bit of attention lately.

PD_mic_Twitter_500x500…as always, you should listen live to hear it all…and as we keep telling you, you’d do well to grab the Podcast Detroit app for Android or iOS and listen that way.  You can find those apps here:  The app was just recently updated to make finding out information about new shows, as well as catching show archives, a lot easier.

The mics go live starting at 9pm, and we hope you join us.

You can also catch any of our episodes you may have missed over at, including last week’s over at
