Our Charity Event Thursday Night, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Master Plot Comics in Studio Tonight and More for 12/7/2015

If you listen to tonight’s live broadcast of episode 121 of our weekly podcast, you’ll probably hear me wax nostalgic a little bit since today’s something of an anniversary for me…but don’t worry, I’m sure it won’t last too long since we have some great guests joining us.  Leo Barella, Vice President and Chief Techonoloy Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will be in studio with us, as will Stefani Manard of Master Plot Comics (and several other initiatives), so we’re expecting a lot of great, varied conversations.  And then on Thursday we have our annual fundraiser for charity (and yet still a casual networking event) event taking place, and you’re definitely going to want to be there…

xmasevent2015As always, we kick this update off with information about our next in-person networking event…and it’s one we look forward to every year.

It’s our annual, end of the year fundraising event to support a local charity.

This year, we’re working with Operation Kid Equip again, in order to help ensure that local kids right here in the area that don’t necessarily live in the best of circumstances have a decent holiday season.  OKE already has a list of about a thousand kids right here in the metro Detroit area that need our help…so let’s see how many of those kids we can cross off their list.

EventNewspaper_december2015This Thursday, December 10th – so yes, it’s a week early, like we always do with our December events to try and not clutter up your calendar – bring a new, unwrapped toy, cash, or checks (made payable to Operation Kid Equip) to Falling Down Beer Company at 2270 East 10 Mile Road in Warren, MI starting at 5pm and help us do this.  Best part? Not only are you helping this awesome cause, but since they’re a 501c3, all donations are completely tax deductible.  That’s right, all of you people and companies looking for some last-minute write-offs…here you go.

And there’s going to be a ton of stuff going on that night.

We’ll have the Podcast Detroit remote gear up and running, with a couple of shows broadcasting live.  Kevin Wilson is a phenomenal guitar playing singer who does an amazing 80s set…so you know we had to book him to play, and he’ll be live throughout the night.  Probably some prizes, some giveaways, and all sorts of other whacky mayhem will be going on…all in the name of raising money for this great cause, so we’d damned well better see you there Thursday night.

12341269_637391749736668_5040013787396593253_nYou can listen to tonight’s show for more information as well.  We’ll be broadcasting live for episode 121 of our weekly podcast, and we’ve got a hell of a set of guests for you tonight.  Leo Barella, Vice President and Chief Techonoloy Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will be in studio with us, as will Stefani Manard of Master Plot Comics (and several other initiatives), so expect everything from healthcare to conventions to jobs to comics and more.  It’s going to be a great night of conversations all around, so make sure you listen live.

Mics go live at 9pm like always, so join us by listening live from 9pm to 11pm, and then hit us up by firing up Twitter and hitting @ITintheD during the show…and our phone line is up and operational as well.  We love audience participation, so come along and play with us!

PD_mic_Twitter_500x500Listen live to hear it all happen…and as mentioned up above, you’d do well to grab the Podcast Detroit app for Android or iOS and listen that way.  You can find those apps here: http://www.podcastdetroit.com/how-to-listen/  As our network continues to grow, mature, and add new shows, we’ll be re-purposing the IT in the D stream and app space for a second Podcast Detroit broadcasting avenue, so you might as well start listening there now, because that’s where we’re focusing our efforts.  Plus, you can get some exposure to other great shows on our network.

Simply put, with over 30 shows running, there’s something for everyone.  Check out the entire lineup at http://www.podcastdetroit.com/artist/ and start listening.
