Social Media Day Detroit, MI Tech News and More Live Tonight, Upcoming Events for 6/22/2015

We’re rolling tonight with episode 97 of our weekly live podcast with our guests from Social Media Day Detroit and MI Tech News.  We’ve got our next event in just over a week at a new venue that we can’t wait to check out coming on the heels of last week’s really great event at Blackfinn. There are some blog entries to read, the usual memes and fun on our Facebook page, updates from our Twitter account, some sad news from one of our favorite venues and more…

11001787_1541003169496276_8769231589365598987_nAs always, we start with information about our next in-person networking event, and we’ll be hitting a brand new venue within an old favorite that we can’t wait to try out.

11425502_576105645865279_4978611463244870241_nOn Wednesday, July 1st we’ll be hitting The Whisky Parlor, which is on the 2nd floor of Grand Trunk downtown.  Can’t wait to check it out, and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone there.  It’s located at 608 Woodward Avenue, again up on the 2nd floor.

5pm start time.  No cover charge to get in.  No speeches.  No agenda.  No sales pitches.  Just networking with some of the best and brightest folks here in and around the metro Detroit information technology community.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Details can be found here on the site –, on our Facebook page –, or in our Meetup group –

11108246_571389083003602_6767368557944316306_nI’m sure we’ll be talking about that event, as well as last week’s great get together at Blackfinn during tonight’s live podcast as well.

For episode 97 of our weekly podcast, we’re joined by our friends from Social Media Day Detroit – an event taking place this Friday at Motor City Casino – and MI Tech News, our content partner from a technology news and information perspective that powers the “News” tab here on our site as well as the “Breaking News” section in our right rail.

All of the usual ways to listen live apply, but we’ve added another one to make it even easier for you – we have our own app now. Our app can be found here:

Mics go live at 9pm like always, so join us by listening live from 9pm to 11pm, and then hit us up by firing up Twitter and hitting @ITintheD during the show.  We love audience participation, so come along and play with us!  Not sure how to listen live?  We’ve got instructions for you over here:  You can catch last week’s episode with Make Moore Media, Dryv, Professional’s Night Out and Daily Detroit over at

fallen_angelsDon’t Be That Guy: The Fallen Angel is a really good (and kind of important) read over at  It’s a good insight into our heads – why we operate like we do, how we think, and why we always keep a level head about things no matter what’s going on around us.

We’ve also got Don’t Be That Guy: Mister Microphone out for you at, and please, for the sake of everyone around you, read this and make sure you’re never, ever this guy.

Did you know that if you post a job on our site, it gets blasted out to our 13,000+ Twitter followers?  It’s free, and you should check that out at
