Well, we survived. Every six months, we wind up having the same panic attacks, the same freak outs, the same wondering what we've forgotten, the same crushing paranoia that nobody's going to show up... ...and then the people show, the recruiters...

IT in the D, Episode 58, chock full of information for you. We lost one of our guests due to a bacterial infection (no, we weren't involved with that, I swear), but we were joined in studio by Steve from...

IT in the D, Episode 57...what a fun episode. Great guests in-studio talking about Comcast's "Internet Essentials" program that helps low-income families get high speed access and even a computer at an insanely low cost, how thinking like a magician...

It's just about that time again.  The resumes are starting to come in.  We're getting the badges queued up for recruiters.  The venue is prepped.  The media's started asking questions.  I've developed the usual twitch over my left eye...

IT in the D, Episode 39...another rant to kick things off, this one based on a stunning revelation that came our way last week about a group member. Then we dove into the 2014 Motor City Comic Con, roller derby, the Assemble Detroit event tomorrow night and a whole bunch more. Lots of fun this time around, as well as some great information, so let's go ahead and dive in...

IT in the D, Episode 39 We decided to go ahead and isolate the segment with Michael Goldman of Motor City Comic Con since we knew it might be of specific interest to people...

Here we are, the second "oh my god we're old" moment in the last couple of weeks. We didn't take St Patrick's Day off...and here we are not taking Opening Day off either. It's starting to get a bit weird around here. We're going to have to work on that. We've got another live broadcast of IT in the D tonight, our next casual networking event is just a couple weeks away, and we've got a few blog entries for you to read. So let's get started...

Yeah, I know...the name change is kind of "old news" at this point since it happened back on the 13th, but we haven't done one of these updates in a couple of weeks due to the chaos leading up to the Pink Slip Party, everything that went into the rebrand, and just life in general since then... ...so, it seemed like we should go ahead and put it out there, just in case you missed it. The website's changed, the layout's different, and while the content was all migrated, we did do a little housecleaning and re-organized things a bit. We've got our live broadcast of IT in the D tonight with some pretty awesome guests joining us. We've had a couple of episodes since our last update went out, and you can catch up with those on our Show Archives page. There are also a few blog entries out for you to read, the usual fun in our LinkedIn group (which also went through a rebranding exercise), we're up and running fully on the IT in the D twitter account and Facebook page, so you'll want to make adjustments accordingly, and... ...you know what? Let's go ahead and dive into the details...

IT in the D, Episode 34. For those listening last week, Bob was horrified when he realized that last Monday being the 10th meant that this Monday was the 17th, and so we'd be in the studio on St Patrick's Day. We're all very proud of him for struggling through. Some great guests also made it in-studio with us on this greenest of days, including Gary, Elyse and April from Brightwing, our old buddy Russ Dotson who's back on leave for a couple weeks from his deployment overseas, and Adam from the DLux Expo popped in for a segment, which resulted in a couple rather random celebrity phone calls into the show. All in all, a great night...so on with the recap...

The first live broadcast of IT in the D...as IT in the D. Tonight should be a really great show, since we've got some cool guests coming in-studio to join us and... ...what? You thought we wouldn't be doing a show tonight because it's St Patrick's Day? You clearly haven't heard our show before... There will be beer. Guinness, to be specific. Oh, we'll probably have some PBR floating around as well, but some traditions outweigh others. Besides...it's amateur night, people. At least that's what we're telling ourselves to keep from feeling old. Guests? Believe it or not, we've got guests coming in with us as well tonight...

Detroitnet.org, the agenda-free IT networking organization that has been around since 2001 is getting a facelift. After the 3/13 Pink Slip Party (which is being held at St. Andrew’s Hall from 5-8PM and will feature over 100 hiring managers), the group will be entirely known as “IT in the D”. When asked about the change, partner Dave Phillips stated, “We came up with the name a few years ago to name our annual tech conference. Well, once we started our podcast, the name was a natural fit. We had no idea that the podcast would be as successful as it has become with more than 15,000 listeners from all 50 states and even internationally to each episode, coupled with the name having a nice hook, and it only made sense to bundle everything together.”

You can now pretty much count in hours the time remaining to our Pink Slip Party event at Saint Andrews Hall on Thursday night. What will you find at Saint Andrews Hall when you get there on Thursday night? You'll find the best and brightest in the metro Detroit information technology community. Thanks to our sponsors - Arrow Strategies, Brightwing, and New Horizons - you'll find an open bar and the phenomenal food of Bucharest Grill. You'll find people genuinely interested in helping you make some great connections, further your career, and even helping you hire someone or get hired. That's what we do. But we think that's what's really important to know is what you won't find...

IT in The D, Episode 32. We experienced some serious technical difficulties with the show last night - the live stream had some problems, and it turns out that the recording did as well. So...publishing this partial version which contains the first hour of the show for now, with the hope that recovery efforts will be successful and we'll have the rest available shortly. Because oh, man did we have some cool stuff happen during tonight's episode as Adam "D Lux" Lux joined us in-studio tonight...

IT in The D, Episode 31. We're joined in-studio by veteran guest Billy Strawter of Social Coop Media, as well as newcomer Julie Van Ameyde of Simply Social Media, along with Jeff Haase, who somehow keeps getting roped into these things. As you'd expect, we covered a whole host of social media topics with those two on-hand, but that hardly begins to cover everything we talked about in this episode...

We hit the airwaves tonight for episode 31 of IT in The D minus our voice of reason. What can possibly go wrong? Solid turnout at our event this past Thursday night, there's a Network Michigan event this Thursday, and we've got all eyes on our Pink Slip Party on 3/13. More stone tablets came down from the mountain as we deliver the Ten Commandments of Job Search, as well as The Seven Deadly Sins of Job Search and a few other blog entries. And then our LinkedIn group and all of the other usual points of fun, so let's dive in...
