PANELISTS:

Scott Dawson – Vice President of Engineering drives our engineering-related strategy and programs to define the leading edge of network security and management for today’s network and security professionals.  Scott works closely with product management, the Office of the CTO, operations and sales to deliver products to market according to our strategic vision and roadmaps.  Since joining Arbor Networks in 2001, he has served in a variety of instrumental roles in engineering and development across multiple product lines.

Theresa Moriarty – Vice President of Sales Operations leads our sales development, inside sales, sales/channel operations and sales analytic organizations, drawing upon 18 years of experience.  Since joining us in 2009, she has excelled at a variety of roles, including Revenue Manager.  Previously, Theresa served as Director of Contracts at SkillSoft Corporation and as Contract Specialist at Cabletron Systems.

Allison Floyd – Program Manager started her career in the IT industry over 20 years ago transferring Department of Energy sensitive data to/from classified networks using cryptographic equipment.  Always wanting to learn how things work, she transitioned to a corporate help desk where she gained hands-on experience building and maintaining PCs, laptops and networks and eventually managing the corporate help desk.  She returned to the classified world where she served many roles in information, systems, personnel and operations security as the Security Officer and Information Systems Security Officer.  Wanting to see what life was like in an office with windows, she left the classified world and moved to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where she worked as a liaison for the Chief Information Security Officer, a policy analyst and finally the team lead responsible for overseeing the certification and accreditation of the CDC’s 800 information systems.  Allison joined Arbor Networks in April 2016 and is currently the chief cat herder (better known as the Program Manager for Arbor’s Security Engineering and Response Team (ASERT).

Danielle Closs – UI/Web Application Developer.  I love working in the tech industry in Ann Arbor! I’ve been in the Ann Arbor area, working (and playing) in tech for about 7 years, and have worked in web development for about 9 years. I love the tech community in Ann Arbor, and I feel it is an important part of my professional career, as well as an important communication tool between tech workers and tech companies. I am a UI/Web Applications Developer at Arbor Networks, and I work on Arbor Network’s primary network visibility product, Arbor SP. At Arbor Networks, we do a lot to protect the Internet, as well as enterprise-level companies and their networks, from network attacks of all kinds, through our suite of network visibility, investigation and mitigation software.  I am proud to be a part of the team that protects our connected world!

Eddy Gurney – Senior Quality Engineer helps deliver products to customers that work! As part of a small team of developers and QA engineers using the “agile development” process, Eddy works to verify that defects have been corrected, ensure product quality from release to release, and helps automate testing strategies. Eddy also works as a mentor for Arbor’s college intern program, and enjoys helping others become more proficient by sharing his knowledge. Prior to joining Arbor Networks in 2013, Eddy worked for many years at a tier-one telecommunication provider as a systems architect.

Lon Lowen – Senior Director, Engineering Operations has more than 20 years’ experience in data networking, security and internet technologies. He began his career with the ANS/NSFNet project in 1994 before joining Arbor Networks in 2006. Today, Lon is responsible for driving engineering initiatives for the Arbor SP product portfolio. Arbor SP is used by the vast majority of the world’s leading service providers for network visibility and reporting capabilities to help them detect and understand availability threats, improve traffic engineering, peering relationships and service performance.  Lon is also responsible for overall Engineering Operations at Arbor including Beta Programs, Security Assessment, Sustainment Engineering and Testlabs.
