Intro to JavaScript (2-Day Workshop)

Session #1: Tuesday, June 20 @ 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Session #2: Wednesday, June 21 @ 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Snacks and drinks will be provided on both days.

JavaScript is the language of interactivity on the web. If you want to learn programming, JavaScript is a pretty good place to start! 

Over the course of this session we will explore the basics of programming in JavaScript, then learn some of the wide variety of modern, dynamic, and fun things you can do with it!

No programming experience is necessary but proficiency with HTML and CSS is required.

This class will be taught by Jeseekia Vaughn.

NOTE: We are offering scholarships on a limited basis for students with financial need. Please complete our scholarship application if you are interested. Applications must be received no later than June 16. Scholarship recipients will be notified via email by June 18.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT: If fewer than 12 students register for this workshop, GDI Detroit may postpone or cancel it.  In that event a refund or class credit will be available to any students who have paid to attend.

WHAT TO BRING:

Please bring your laptop and charger to all class sessions. Power strips & Wi-Fi will be provided. If you don’t have a laptop, we may be able to lend you one thanks to our friends at Bizdom! Email us by Friday June 16 at detroit@girldevelopit.com to reserve. 

Also, have your favorite code editor. Jeseekia loves AtomSublime Text is good as well.
