Basic HTML

Every website on the whole internet is written with HTML!

Want to learn how to build your own website? Already have your own Tumblr/WordPress/etc. site, but want to have more control over it? Interested in learning to program, but want to start small? This class is for you!

We will guide you through the basics of HTML, build simple websites, and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Note: This will truly be an introductory class. If you’ve taken GDI’s Intro to HTML & CSS or any equivalent classes and successfully completed the exercises, this workshop is not for you.

LOCATION:

Detroit Public Library (Main Branch) – TLC Lab

INSTRUCTOR:

This course will be taught by Hillary Lewandowski.

PARKING:

Metered street parking on Cass, Woodward, Putnam and Kirby Avenues. Free parking in the library staff lot on the south side of the Main Library, all day on Saturdays. Lot is accessible from Putnam Avenue via Cass Avenue. Customers must then use either the Cass or the Woodward entrance.

WHAT TO BRING:

We will be using the library’s computer lab, so no need to bring a laptop. Pen & paper for taking notes are recommended.
