IT in the D was founded upon the principle of making things suck less for the Metro Detroit IT industry. Whether it be meetups, recruiting, job seeking, job fairs, podcasts, we have always strived to change the way things were being done.
Roughly four years ago, we heard complaints about the training industry being broken. While people wanted to increase their skill set, they couldn’t spend 8 weeks from 9AM-5PM in a bootcamp while spending as much as a small car.
We have now partnered with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Detroit School for Digital Technology (DSDT), and our numerous contacts in the job placement field to offer self-study training, free certification testing, and job placement for people interesting in getting started in a career in Information Technology.
This program is built on The Path whereas this is your first step in your career, where you take it is up to you, but this is merely the beginning.
Who is eligible? We are basing this on a first come, first serve basis. This program is for those new to the industry, not to re-new expiring certifications.
What certifications are you offering? We are suggesting that two CompTIA Certifications are obtained, A+ and Net+. Security+ is an option if you would like to pursue a career in Cyber Security.
How long will this take? Again, this based on your schedule. There is no time frame to complete these certifications, however you must communicate with IT in the D every two-weeks on your progress or your seat will be given to someone else.
What happens when I complete the certifications? You will work with the MEDC, MichWorks, and IT in the D recruiters to be places in a level one help desk position with a company in Southeast Michigan.
If you are interested and are 100% committed, fill out the form below and we will be in touch.
