The 3/13/2014 Pink Slip Party Press Release
ITintheD.com planning Pink Slip Party and major announcement on the future of ITintheD.com on March 13th, 2014
Open to all professionals, recruiters and hiring managers in and around the information technology community in the Metro Detroit Area
DETROIT, Michigan, February 14th, 2014 – ITintheD.com, the agenda-free networking organization for IT professionals is hosting their bi-annual Pink Slip Party at St Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, Michigan on March 13th, 2014 (313 day) from 5PM until 9PM…
Although anyone in the IT industry is welcome to attend this event, this invitation is being extended specifically to professionals and job seekers in the Information Technology industry and professionals interesting in this growing field.
As always, the event is free to attend, there will be no speakers, and names will not be sold. Recruiters and hiring managers will be tagged with a lanyard and the open-floor concept is highly conducive to networking and interaction. Job seekers are asked to merely bring business cards as resumes are not being accepted.
There will be an open bar and light snacks will be provided.
ITintheD.com founder Bob Waltenspiel adds, “What started as three guys and a bar stool has turned into something bigger than us all. Roughly 700+ people have found jobs through our events. Just simply acknowledging that job fairs are awful and doing something about has really had a positive impact to the local IT community in Metro Detroit. We refuse kickbacks from all of our recruiters and relish in the fact that this is still grass roots.”
ITintheD.com’s other co-founder and resident geek David Phillips adds, “While we have been doing the Pink Slip Parties now since 2009, we are constantly being asked, “What’s next?”. Well, at the 3/13 event, we plan to have a special announcement concerning the future and direction of ITintheD.com.”
Voice of Reason Jeff Mackey adds, “I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of an organization that has helped so many people in our industry. We’re having fun doing this, despite people telling us we’re doing it wrong. And I’m excited for what we have planned next and where it will take us.”
Recruiters and hiring managers are being asked to RSVP – contact@ITinTheD.com – there is no cost.
