Casual Networking Event tonight!

Hey folks, don’t forget that there’s a casual networking event tonight in the back room of the BlackFinn in Royal Oak.  Looks like there’s going to be a pretty decent turnout, so we look forward to seeing everyone there.  For details about tonight’s event like directions, etc., hit the LinkedIn event listing: http://events.linkedin.com/May-ITintheD-org-Social-Happy-Hour/pub/297546 or on our site at http://www.ITinTheD.com/356/may-happy-hour/

Speaking of our site, two new blog entries have gone live:

– Greedy Networking Guy: http://www.ITinTheD.com/617/greedy-networking-guy/

– It’s All About Perspective: http://www.ITinTheD.com/631/its-all-about-perspective/

And I suppose let’s not forget about jobs.  Yet again, quite a few gigs posted in our LinkedIn group (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=91763).  To make life easier, we’ve added a “Job Board” link on the ITinTheD.org website that will take you right to it if you’re having problems getting there.

So what’s out there currently?

– System Consultant
– GE alone posted about a dozen jobs including architects, software engineers and more
– Ajax Developer
– Computer Associates Service Desk implementation and support
– SQL Server DBA
– C# Developer
– Senior Unix Admin
– Systems Administrator, Linux and Windows
– Account Executive, IT Infrastructure and Managed Services
– Technical Architect
– Flash Developers
– Catia Designer

…and seriously…many, many more are out there.

As a tip, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve posted this response to people under a job posting…so hopefully being a little up-front about it will help: don’t post responses to job listings.  Almost every posting includes the details on how to contact the recruiter, HR staff or hiring manager directly – take advantage of that.  Follow up with them directly and get yourself connected!

And, again, look forward to seeing everyone at tonight’s event at the BlackFinn!

Regards,

Bob, Dave and Jeff
