US Signal, Tome Software In-Studio Tonight, Charity Event Updates and More for 11/28/2016

We’re being joined by US Signal and Tome Software for episode 173 of our show tonight from the Podcast Detroit studios.  We’re two weeks away from our annual end of the year charity event that you should absolutely plan on being at.  And of course we’ve got blog entries and other random nonsense for you from our Facebook page and more…

1962288_642048052604371_1910472353081442468_oOur next in-person event is our annual charity fundraiser event, working with the folks behind Operation Kid Equip to ensure that the same kids who face challenges here in the area during the school year are able to have a good holiday season as well.

It will take place on Thursday, December 8th, starting at 5pm over at Falling Down Beer Company at 10 and Dequinder in Warren, MI.  One of the owners, Mark, will be on our show next Monday to talk about their expansion in Oxford and more, as well as our event that Thursday night.

We always pull our December event up a week, because we know how crazy that month gets for everyone.  We’ve raised thousands of dollars and collected hundreds of toys for kids right here in the area over the past couple of years, and we’re very much hoping you can join us again.

itinthednewspaper11282016That’ll obviously be one of the topics during our opening segment tonight, along with all of the usual news stories, events, and items that have caught our eyes over the past week…and there’s been a lot.

Then we’ll dive in with US Signal, a high speed internet and cloud services provider that you may not be familiar with, even though they’re right here in our own back yard.  We’ve also got Tome Software coming in to talk about one of our favorite topics, Internet of Things.

PD_mic_Twitter_500x500Also on the Podcast Detroit front, we’re very close to being ready to go with a new studio in downtown Detroit to go along with the three in our Royal Oak facility.  We’d be up and running already…but, well, we get plagued by chaos from time to time, and so an incorrect sound board arriving delayed us by a few days, unfortunately.

For details on what we’re doing down in the Penobscot building, please see our announcement at http://www.podcastdetroit.com/podcast-detroit-expands-opens-studio-downtown/
