A Few Events Coming Up That Most Likely Won’t Suck

By on May 31, 2011 in News & Announcements

I know, “way to set the bar high”, huh?  I’m a big fan of “plausible deniability” – you can’t blame us if something goes wrong this way :)

There are a few events coming up in the near future that you probably ought to be paying attention to.  There’s a little something for everyone – job seekers, geeks looking to be geeks, networking opportunities…a little bit of everything.

Plus, we’re trying to be helpful in getting the word out about some cool stuff going on around the area, so here’s a few things you might want to check out…

Saturday, June 11th: CloudDevDay!

The goal of CloudDevDay is to educate Detroit and SE Michigan software developers about building applications in and for the Cloud. This will be an introduction for many of the attendees and the presenters know that. Infrastructure As a Service and Platform as a Service technologies present huge opportunities for our software developer community. We hope you will join us for another day of learning and networking.

Wednesday, June 15th: MI-GANG‘s next get together for .NET folks.  They’re a bit more structured and formal than we are – focused on a specific topic each meeting, strictly .NET folks and development topics:

The Great Lakes Area .NET Users Group (GANG) has been actively serving the .NET Developer community in Southeast Michigan since 2001. We are a community of developers interested and active in the development of software implementing the Microsoft .NET framework and associated environment. Topics of discussion will focus on .NET development and related subjects.

We are dedicated to advancing the knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft .NET development tools and methods in the development community.

Thursday, June 16th: June Happy Hour: Networking for IT Professionals in metro Detroit.  Yeah, it’s us.  Red Ox.  Utica.  5:01pm.

We also have it listed out on Eventful, Eventbrite and a few other places…but just as a note (since there seems to be some confusion)…you don’t actually have to grab tickets from Eventbrite to come to our events. Seriously. We just list our events out there because…well, because we’re still experimenting, that’s why. If and when you actually do ever have to grab tickets there, we’ll let you know, we promise.
