We know where we’re going to be this weekend – Penguicon – and tonight’s live broadcast of episode 141 of our IT in the D weekly podcast is certainly going to give you a bunch of reasons why you should plan on being there, too. We’ll also be chatting with a non-profit organization about the work they do and the renaming exercise underway, as well as an 80s party for a great cause coming up in a few weeks that you’re probably going to want to be at. That, plus the usual collection of blog entries, hijinx on our Facebook wall, our next casual networking event, our meetup for Metro Detroit Podcasters and more in this week’s update…
As per usual, we start with our next in-person event. We had a great turnout at last week’s event at Blackfinn, and we’re looking forward to doing it all again on Thursday, May 21st in the Huma Room (the upstairs bar) at Hopcat.
5pm start time. No agendas. No speakers. No sales pitches.
Just good, solid networking opportunities with some of the best and brightest folks in and around the metro Detroit information technology scene.
Of course we’ll be talking about that tonight during episode 141 of our weekly live podcast broadcast. We’ve got all sorts of fun guests coming in tonight, and a whole range of topics that should keep you engaged and informed. More importantly, we’re going to be telling you where you need to be this weekend so that you can help Dave and Bob celebrate their birthdays in the midst of everything else going on at Penguicon.
For the same of reference, you can read Bob’s reaction to last year at Penguicon here: http://www.itinthed.com/17044/2015-penguicon-review-part-1-the-sales-guy-learns-something/, and you can read Dave’s at http://www.itinthed.com/17054/2015-penguicon-review-part-2-the-geek-goes-home/
Because there’s going to be a party suite, an 80s theme, Bob’s breaking out the DJ gear, we’ll have shows doing live broadcasts all weekend long, there’s going to be…
…well, you should listen live to hear it all…and as we keep telling you, you’d do well to grab the Podcast Detroit app for Android or iOS and listen that way. You can find those apps here: http://www.podcastdetroit.com/how-to-listen/ The app was just recently updated to make finding out information about new shows, as well as catching show archives, a lot easier.
