We’ve got a packed studio for episode 107 of our weekly live podcast broadcast, (has anyone coined the term “prodcast” yet?) our Pink Slip Party is just a couple weeks away, we’ve got blog entries, updated information for sponsors, we’re probably going to start migrating listeners to the Podcast Detroit app so you might want to grab that, there are a whole bunch of shows live on our fledgling network already, the usual shenanigans are in play on our Facebook page and Twitter account, and we’re generally amusing ourselves as we always do, even during outside speaking engagements…
On Thursday, September 17th, we’re back at The Majestic Theater for yet another one of our (in)famous Pink Slip Parties.
If you’re not familiar with our Pink Slip Party events, then you should probably learn why they’re different from our casual networking events by reading the frequently asked questions over at http://www.itinthed.com/faq/, and you can check out some photos over at http://www.itinthed.com/meet/photos/.
Like all of our Pink Slip Party events, we’ll be accepting a very limited set of sponsors to help us offset the costs of running the event who get to have an established physical presence at the event, appear on all of our marketing materials and media mentions. Check out our sponsors page at http://www.itinthed.com/sponsors/ and then drop us a note to reserve a spot.
Of course we’ll be talking about that tonight during our show.
It’s episode 107, and we’ve got Jamie Begin from Right Brain Networks coming in to talk DevOps. You may remember that we had Jamie scheduled for the night we wound up delaying a day due to widespread power outages, and so he’s back to tell us all about DevOps – what it is, why it matters, and why if you’re not already thinking about it, you should be.
We’ve also got recurring favorites Erika Carlson and Elyse (Lopez) Turner joining us to talk about everything from career transition into information technology, to Girl Develop IT, what life at Detroit Labs is like and more. Which dovetails into our other guest, Chioke Mose-Telesford, who’ll be talking about an upcoming iOS developer bootcamp this fall.
So…yeah. It’s going to be a jam packed night. Listen live to hear it all happen…and as mentioned up above, you’d do well to grab the Podcast Detroit app for Android or iOS and listen that way. You can find those apps here: http://www.podcastdetroit.com/how-to-listen/ As our network continues to grow, mature, and add new shows, we’ll be re-purposing the IT in the D stream and app space for a second Podcast Detroit broadcasting avenue, so you might as well start listening there now.
Mics go live at 9pm like always, so join us by listening live from 9pm to 11pm, and then hit us up by firing up Twitter and hitting @ITintheD during the show…and our phone line is up and operational as well. We love audience participation, so come along and play with us! Through the PD apps we just told you to get, you can interact with us via Facebook, Twitter, and even calling in.
