Bamboo Detroit and Newmind Group Tonight, Networking Event at Hopcat Thursday, Podcast Detroit Expands and More for 8/17/2015

Episode 105 of our weekly live podcast is tonight, and we’ll be live with Bamboo Detroit and Newmind Group talking about all sorts of fun topics from what they’re both doing downtown and the usual events and items from the past week.  Then we’ll be upstairs in the Huma Room at Hopcat Detroit for our monthly casual networking event.  And like that’s not enough, we’ve got thirteen shows going live this week on our Podcast Detroit network, so things are really ramping up on every front we have at the moment…

HopCat Detroit_Live VenueThis Thursday (August 20th) we’ll be upstairs in the Huma Room at Hopcat at our usual starting time of 5pm for one of our monthly casual networking events.  We’ve had quite a few folks RSVP for this one, so we’re expecting a decent crowd for the night.

EventNewspaper_august2015bAs a bonus, we’re being joined by the good folks from SMAMi, the Social Media Association of Michigan, for the event that night.  Really looking forward to mixing up the crowd a bit and seeing what good things can happen.

No cover charge to get in, no sales pitches, no agendas, no nonsense.  Just good, solid opportunities to get to know some of the best and brightest folks in the metro Detroit information technology community.  Looking forward to seeing you there.

Details can be found here on the site – http://www.itinthed.com/meet/, on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/ITinTheD, or in our Meetup group – http://www.meetup.com/ITintheD/

And then don’t forget that on Thursday, September 17th, we’re back at The Majestic Theater for yet another one of our (in)famous Pink Slip Parties.

If you’re not familiar with our Pink Slip Party events, then you should probably learn why they’re different from our casual networking events by reading the frequently asked questions over at http://www.itinthed.com/faq/, and you can check out some photos over at http://www.itinthed.com/meet/photos/.

DSC_0033Like all of our Pink Slip Party events, we’ll be accepting a very limited set of sponsors to help us offset the costs of running the event who get to have an established physical presence at the event, appear on all of our marketing materials and media mentions.  Check out our sponsors page at http://www.itinthed.com/sponsors/ and then drop us a note to reserve a spot.

11892235_599031423572701_7419602390059755488_nWe’ll be talking about all of that and more tonight during our weekly live podcast.  It’s episode 105, and we’ve got some good guests on tap for tonight.

Our friends from Bamboo Detroit are coming in to talk about everything they’ve got going on downtown, including an expansion of their space which leads to new capabilities and offerings.  We’ll also have Newmind Group in-studio with us.  They’re a managed services firm with a variety of available services, so it should be a good chat.

Mics go live at 9pm like always, so join us by listening live from 9pm to 11pm, and then hit us up by firing up Twitter and hitting @ITintheD during the show…and our phone line is up and operational as well.  We love audience participation, so come along and play with us!  Not sure how to listen live?  We’ve got instructions for you over here: http://www.itinthed.com/listen/how-to-listen/.  You can catch last week’s episode with Online Tech, Andrea Kress, and the Windsor Comic Con at http://www.itinthed.com/17603/episode-104-online-tech-andrea-kress-windsor-comic-con/

PD_mic_Twitter_500x500Also on the podcast front, our Podcast Detroit network is shaping up rather nicely, with thirteen shows going live this week, and a whole bunch of others waiting in the wings as we figure out time slots and the best fit.  We’re set to have live content rolling every day of the week at the moment, and we’re still not done adding, launching and rolling.  We’ve got everything from shows for geeks to coverage of the local music scene, a professional relationship counselor, a show about all forms of hand combat like MMA / boxing / wrestling, and so much more.  There’s a little something for everyone, and so check out the list of shows out at http://www.podcastdetroit.com/artist/

And then if you want to join all of those shows…and us…by possibly launching your own show, we do have a few limited slots left where shows might fit, and we can also talk about syndication as well.  Drop us a note – http://www.itinthed.com/contact-us/ or http://www.podcastdetroit.com/contact-2/ – and let’s chat about what you’ve got in mind.
